Dr. Gloria Quintero de Sanchez was born in David, Chiriqu��, Republic of Panam��.
She finished her primary and secondary studies in Nuestra Se��ora de los Angeles school, graduating Valedictorian in her class.
Upon graduating from her secondary studies, Dr. Sanchez underwent her medical training at the University of Salamanca, Spain. There, she obtained her Medical Degree with honors.
Following her graduation from medical school, Dr. Sanchez returned to The Republic of Panam��, where she underwent her internship at the Hospital Santo Tom��s, which she again finished with top honors. Dr. Sanchez underwent a second year of internship at the Hospital Nicol��s Solano, where she became the chief intern of Pediatrics.
Dr. Sanchez then underwent a four year residency program in Pathological Anatomy and Surgical Pathology at the Hospital Complejo Hospitalario Arnulfo Arias Madrid in Panama City. Dr. Sanchez then undertook another year and a half of training to obtain her subspecialty in Citopathology.
She was female Chief Resident where she authored several medical articles, some of which were published in the Magazine of Hospital A. A. M.C.H. M. Furthermore, she was designated with the honor to work in the program of the Committee of Tumors and in the Committee of Clinical files for more than two years.
Dr. Sanchez has held positions as Chief Female Director of the Departments of Pathology and the Service of Citopathology at the Hospital Arnulfo Arias Madrid.
She belongs to the Society of Pathology of Panam�� and held the position of Secretary of this association for a period of two years.
She worked in the specialty of surgical pathology and in the subspecialty of citopathology for more than 28 years in the Hospital ARNULFO ARIAS MADRID.
Additionally, she worked as a specialist in these fields in the private hospitals of SAN FERNANDO HOSPITAL, CENTRO MEDICO PAITILLA, CENTRO MEDICO NACIONAL, AND IN THE HOSPITAL NACIONAL.
She was a professor of medicine, teaching pathology for ten years and held a chair (professorship of pathology at THE UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL OF PANAMA
She is married and has three daughters.
